Whats New~

The first Project Tea Party is just around the corner. Hoping to see everyone there. We are making birdbaths out of clay flower pots. I have found the Terra Cotta pots!! They are at JoAnnes Fabric Store. The project requires three sizes of clay pots and a saucer. Please email me at mellett111@gmail.com if you have trouble finding the supplies. The total for the flower posts are $10.00. Glue, acrylic, paint and brushes will be provided. Please bring any rub off decals or other items if you wish. Please go to the craft link at:

This is the basic idea of the one we will make.

COMMUNITY

Part of the vision I have for this group is to give back to the community in some creative ways. At this time Debbie and Hailey are beginning to loom knit hats and scarf sets for the senior home. Anyone who would like to knit or crochet hats and scarfs for this great gift are welcome. If you are not into knitting etc. donations of yarn would be a great way to give. loom knitting is very easy to do and we can teach you in a matter of minutes. We will have one at the party if your not familiar with them.

HUGS

Another project that is humming around is a fleece blanket project to give to the children of St. Judes Ranch. We will make as many fleece blankets and make a donation at Christmas time. Anyone who would like to join in the fun of making these great comforting "Hug" blankets is welcome to donate items for delivery to the home is welcome. If you would like to donate materials for a blanket, we will make the blanket in your honor.

RECIPE SWAP

December will be a busy month for all of us so I would like to look towards a RECIPE SWAP luncheon in January. I will have more information on this luncheon in future months. So be thinking of your favorite recipes to share.

Roots

For as long as I can remember, someone in our family was always working on a project. Great Aunt Edna ; famous for her crochet work of many varieties, her doll collection that had several handmade dresses and every doll complete with under clothes. Grandma Jean; famous for her oil paintings on canvas, rocks and crafts. Venturing out into the world of knitting on machine beautiful sweaters, holiday stockings and many other knitted heirlooms. Auntie; chocolate, card making, stamping, flower arranging and always ready to try something new. Mom; baking, scrap booking, memoir keeper, circle knitting, holiday wreaths and a plethora of fun creative projects. Great Grandma Maude; Crocheting, beans on the stove, cornbread baked. Last but not least...Kristie; wood working, painting, art, sewing, devotion! If I have left anyone out let me know.

As I have explored my now thirty-six years I have touched on many creative outlets in my life. I cannot help but think there is a special connection between all of us that comes from the desire to create something new. Most times to give to someone else. Other times to feel the joy in completing a project from beginning to end. There is a lot or miles on each hand and heart as we weave the web of creativity throughout our lives.

Happy Creating!!
